POLICE TO ARREST MOSOP LEADER - REJECTED AS FICTITIOUS
The Movement for Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) has rejected as fictitious and outdated tactics by LedumMitee to avoid accountability, a report by Leadership Newspaper in Nigeria purporting that the MOSOP President/Spokesman,Dr. Goodluck Diigbo may be arrested by the police.
MOSOP recalls that it was not the first time Ledum Mitee and Ben Naanen werewriting fictitious petitions to security agents, especially the Police tointimidate Diigbo, cause confusion in Ogoni and to cover-up frauds andatrocities.
MOSOP views this fake report as an attempt to cause public misinformation, distraction and confusion over who may be arrested by the police for criminalactivities and frauds by EFCC other than Ledum Mitee and its clique.
This is another attempt aimed at intimidating the Ogoni, when thebetrayal of Ken Saro-Wiwa could not work to stop the new life in MOSOP and thedemand for accountability as a personal enterprise and destroying MOSOP havebecome impossible since 2009.
It describes as most unfortunate for any newspaper to feature a report creditedto a body “The Ogoni Patriots” that does not even exist in Ogoni.
In 2009, many similar fictitious reports were written by Ledum Mitee and creditedto his Secretary, Moses Damgbon, who when could not defend the report revealedto the SCID, Port Harcourt that it was Mitee who wrote it.
“Why is it that these petitionsalways emerge each time there is a renewed demand on Mitee for accountability? Iam not the only one demanding for accountability; the entire Ogoni, at home andin overseas countries want accountability. He can as well petition the entirepopulation. If the Ogoni people want justice from other people; I think it isonly reasonable for Ogonis to at least give justice themselves as well.” Diigbosaid when contacted.
